The Newton Community School District (NCSD) is proud to offer families top-notch and best educational choices in Iowa.
We serve approximately 3,000 students (PreK - 12th Grades) enrolled in small class sizes at our seven schools:
Aurora Heights (K - 4) *Closed for 2024/25 & 2025/26

Families new to the Newton Community School District, or returning after ending their enrollment, or after being enrolled in another district, will need to contact the Central Registrar during business hours (Mon-Fri) (7:30 AM - 4:30 PM) to begin the registration process.

Documentation can be sent electronically or dropped off at the EJH Beard Administration Center (1302 First Avenue West - Newton, Iowa).

IMMUNIZATION RECORDS
State law requires a certificate of immunization at the time of school enrollment. The immunization card with dates must be at the school before your child will be allowed to attend classes. The school nurse can validate the cards to assure records of immunizations are complete.
Kindergarten - dTap, Polio, MMR, and Varicella booster are needed before student starts school
7th Grade - Tdap and Meningococcal are needed before student starts school
12 Grade - 2nd Meningococcal is needed before student starts school
PHYSICAL FORMS
Your child will need to see their doctor for a Kindergarten physical as required by the Newton Community School District. Click on the link below to download a form for your physician to fill out.
INITIAL HEALTH INFORMATION FORM
This form helps us get to know your child better and their health history from you. This form is to be filled out by the parent regarding their child's growth and health. This is to be filled out in addition to having the doctor complete the Kindergarten physical form.
DENTAL SCREENINGS
All Kindergarten and 9th Grade students are required to have a dental screening. Click on the link below to download a form for your local dentist or orthodontist to fill out and sign after your appointment.

VISION SCREENINGS
Vision screenings are a state requirement for Kindergarten and 3rd Grade entry. Please call and schedule an appointment with your eye doctor and be sure to mention it is for the kindergarten or 3rd grade examination.

Please return in the Immunization Card, Physical, Health Form, Vision Card, and Dental Screening to your child's school of attendance OR the District Office (EJH Beard Administration Center, 1302 First Avenue West)
*Applications for 2024/25 will not be available until late summer.
